Turn a bank statement into JSON you can read or import
Convert a PDF or scanned bank statement to JSON. Dates, amounts and balances stay as printed. Preview free; a free account gives the full JSON file.
This preview shows the first 350 words and does not keep your file.
Need a different result? Turn anything into anything: drop any file, pick what you want out of it.Try it →A bank statement is laid out as a table, and copying it into another program often moves money-out and money-in amounts into the wrong columns or drops the balance column. This page reads the statement and returns one JSON object with the account period, opening and closing balance, and a list of transactions. Each date, amount and balance is kept exactly as printed.
What you get
Structure follows the statement
The output has an account section, a statement period, opening and closing balances, and a transactions list with one record per line, so the result mirrors how the statement is organised.
Figures kept as printed
Dates, money-out and money-in amounts, and running balances are copied exactly as they appear, including decimals and thousands separators, rather than being recalculated.
Missing values are null
If the statement does not show a value, such as a blank money-in cell or no closing balance, the field is set to null instead of being guessed.
How it works
- Step 1
Paste the transactions text or drop your bank statement PDF or Word file into the box.
- Step 2
Check the preview: it shows the start of the JSON so you can confirm the structure and first records.
- Step 3
Create a free account to get the complete JSON, download it as a .json file, and convert longer or scanned statements.
Who uses it
Bookkeepers
Move a month of transactions into a tool or script that accepts JSON, keeping each date and amount as the bank printed them.
Developers building budgeting or reconciliation tools
Get realistic transaction records with separate money-out and money-in fields and null where the statement is silent, to test parsing code.
Individuals checking their own statement
See every transaction and running balance in a structured form, so it is easier to search or compare against your records.
Questions
Are the dates and amounts exactly as on the statement?
Yes. Dates, money-out, money-in and balance values are copied as printed, including the decimal places and commas. The converter can still make mistakes, especially with unclear scans or unusual layouts, so check the JSON against the original statement when the figures matter.
What does the JSON contain for a bank statement?
One object with the account details, the statement period, the opening and closing balances, and a list of transactions. Each transaction has its date, description, money out, money in and running balance. Any field the statement does not give is set to null.
Can it read a scanned bank statement?
Scanned statements need OCR, which is available with a free account. The preview works on text-based PDFs and pasted text; a scan can be converted in full once you sign in.
Is my bank statement stored?
The preview does not keep your file. The preview reads up to 5 pages of a PDF (2 MB) or about 6,000 characters of text. A free account handles whole documents.
