Turn a resume into structured JSON, field by field
Convert a PDF or Word resume into JSON with jobs, dates and skills as clean fields. Keys follow your resume's layout, and missing values stay null.
This preview shows the first 350 words and does not keep your file.

Turn anything into anything: drop any file, pick what you want out of it.Try it →Job portals, applicant systems and HR tools often want resume data as JSON, but a resume is laid out for a human reader, with dates, job titles and bullet points arranged for scanning rather than for fields. This page reads your resume and returns one JSON object that follows its sections, jobs and skills. Job titles, employers, dates and figures are kept exactly as they appear.
What you get
Follows the resume's structure
Sections such as experience, education and skills become separate keys, and each job becomes its own record with its title, employer and dates.
Keeps dates and figures as written
Values like 'March 2021 – present' or '9.2% to 4.1%' are copied as they appear in the resume, not rounded or reformatted.
Uses null for missing values
If a resume has no phone number, graduation year or skills list, that field is still present in the JSON with a null value, so every record has the same shape.
How it works
- Step 1
Paste the text of your resume into the box, or drop a PDF, Word or text file onto it.
- Step 2
Read the short preview of the JSON that appears below the box.
- Step 3
With a free account, get the whole JSON and a .json download, plus support for long and scanned files, batches of files, and changes to the structure by asking for your own field names or schema.
Who uses it
Job seekers preparing applications
Get your work history into a structured format to copy into an online application form or a profile that asks for fields rather than a document.
Recruiters and HR teams
Turn candidate resumes into consistent records before loading them into a spreadsheet, tracking tool or applicant system.
Developers testing parsers
Create sample resume data in JSON to test a form, import script or database schema without using real candidates' personal details.
Questions
Are dates and job titles changed when they become JSON?
No. Job titles, employers, dates and figures are copied as written. For example, 'June 2017 – February 2021' stays as that text rather than being converted into a date format, so you can check it against the original.
What happens if my resume doesn't include a field, such as a LinkedIn URL?
The tool uses null for any value the resume doesn't give. The key still appears in the JSON, so each job or contact record has the same fields every time.
Can I get the JSON in my own field names or a schema my system expects?
The preview shows the default structure. A free account lets you ask for your own field names or a schema your tool expects, and it includes the full JSON with a .json download.
Does it work on scanned resumes?
Scanned or image-only PDFs need text recognition (OCR), which is available with a free account. The preview reads up to 5 pages of a PDF, up to 2 MB, or about 6,000 characters of text, and it does not keep your file.
Can the JSON contain mistakes?
Yes. Results can contain mistakes, especially with unusual layouts or unclear text. Check the JSON against your original resume before you submit it or rely on it.
