Pausing a video every thirty seconds to write things down is slow, and the notes still miss half. This tool follows the structure of the video and writes the notes for you: a heading for each part, bullets under it, key terms in bold and every figure kept as it was said.

What you get

Follows the video

Headings come in the order the speaker covers things, so the notes read like the lecture.

Terms and figures kept

Definitions and numbers are carried over as said, not paraphrased away.

In your account the notes become a document you can edit, or flashcards and a quiz.

Questions

Does it download the video?

No. It reads the public captions of the video, the same text YouTube shows when you turn subtitles on. Nothing is downloaded, and your link is not kept.

What if the video has no captions?

Then there is nothing to read. Paste the transcript into the box instead, or open the video's three-dot menu on YouTube and choose Show transcript.

Which languages work?

Any language the video has captions in. The result is written in the language of the captions unless you ask for another in your account.

Can I get the notes as a document?

Yes. In your account the notes open as an editable document you can download as Word or PDF.
